blasts from the past
I’ve been busy and bedraggled lately but I keep having thoughts about updated my blog, and maybe even resurrecting my nascent podcast and/or YouTube channel.
So here’s just a mic-tap of a post. A sign of life.
My drafts folder is littered with stuff that I could turn into finished blog posts or topics for a voice or video medium. I’ve also been working with Geoff Watts and the team he assembled improvising the Oscillations event happening ahead of SCA in Chicago on April 11. I’m still on the fence as to whether I can take time away to be there in person, but I’m working on a risograph zine for the project with designer Brian Jones that has some really fantastic contributions from the community.
All of the collaboration with old colleagues and friends has me sipping the nostalgia. I feel like there are some chapters of my weird career from the olden days that might be worth reflecting on and putting down as blog posts—the Slow Food Nation coffee pavilion, the launch and landing of the Clover brewer, that whole dollar coffee thing. Time and attention are thin, but blogging is pretty easy and (since nobody reads blogs anymore anyhow) pretty low stakes too.
